geoslice game - Daily Population Puzzle

GeoSlice is a free daily geography puzzle made by GeoTom. Each session uses three real places and asks you to divide their modeled population, including rural areas, instead of relying only on city labels. The data comes from WorldPop gridded estimates that combine census or survey sources with satellite and machine-learning signals. Because it is a model, it is best understood as a consistent puzzle reference rather than an exact headcount. The official game also uses a date seed so daily locations stay consistent for players.

How to Play the geoslice game

Controls

Drag center pointMove the shared center or split line
Drag outer point or spokeRotate the split
Pan/zoom switchExplore the map without moving lines
Lock in splitSubmit the answer and reveal the score

Start with the daily map and choose the mode that matches the kind of split you want to solve. Move the line or shared center, rotate the split, and use pan or zoom when labels are hard to read. Lock in only after the regions look balanced. Halves aims for a 50/50 population split, Thirds aims for roughly 33% in each region, and Quarters divides the map into four targets near 25%. The result is scored out of 100 against GeoSlice's underlying population model.
